Rock More, Roll More, Fuck More, Pac Man is Loving IT!!
posted by Mindgutter | Wednesday, November 28, 2007 | 7:10 PM | la_z_guido@hotmail.com I've been sitting on this amazing track by Junkie XL remixed by D.I.M for a little while now but havn't had a good chance to give it a good listen. But now that I have, wow was I blown away. It's everything you would expect from a D.I.M track, only this time it has haunting vocals over the top talking about Pac Man loving it. I have to say that I am happy as all shit that D.I.M is heading to Australia for Future Music festival as I was blown away by his insane set at Trashbags earlier this year. Other Australian dates are yet to be confirmed but will be announced soon hopefully. Another great track I've included is a favourite of mine. It's D.I.M's remix of Midnight Juggernaut's "Road to Recovery". It's a real banger. And don't forget that next week, Duke Dumont is headlining Trashbags. It's going to be a killer night as it will be the 1st Birthday of Trashbags. I got some video footage of us (Mindgutter) playing Duke Dumont's "Lean and Bounce" @ La La Land. You can't see much but it sounds oh so good ;) x Mindgutter 0 Comments:

Chewy Chocolate Cookies: Exclusive!
posted by Mindgutter | Wednesday, November 21, 2007 | 9:26 AM | la_z_guido@hotmail.com ![]() No longer are dj's/producers performing under the guise of being robots (Daft Punk), Spider Men (Bloody Beetroots) and Ferrari driving zombies (Kavinsky), the new generation of artists are now leaning towards something a little unusual and sweet. The Kids of Trashbags have scored an exclusive interview and tracks from the Chewy Chocolate Cookies... Enjoy! First of all, tell us a little about you… All I could gather from your myspace was that your ‘band members’ consist of 1 1/4 cups butter or margarine, softened - 2 cups granulated sugar - 2 large eggs - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract - 2 cups all-purpose flour - 3/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa - 1 teaspoon baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 2 cups chocolate chips. Are you real people or just a big fat cookie? How many people make up Chewy Chocolate cookies, where are you from and what’s with the name??? All you can find on myspace is true…CCC is not a person, not a band, not a DJ, not a producer… CCC is just chewy chocolate cookies and that’s it…As you can read from the official biography, the story is quite simple, but remember, the most important thing is…DO NOT OVERBAKE !!! About the name, it’s quite simple as well….there’s only one way of calling something made with butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, cocoa….CHEWY CHOCOLATE COOKIES !!! CCC’s official biography, Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).In large mixer bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; gradually blend into creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8 to 9 minutes. DO NOT over bake! Cookies will be soft. Cool slightly on cookie sheet; transfer from sheet onto wire rack to cool completely. I see you’re doing a remix of Toxic Avenger’s “Superheroes”. What producers are you working with at the moment and what other projects do you have set for the future? First of all, 1st CCC Ep , “Pepitès” out in January 2008 on the best French label in the world, Ekler’o’shock… Including: Time, Profondo Rosso, Cheeseburgers, Profondo Rosso Mixhell Rmx and Cheeseburgers Xerak Rmx Then…respect for The Toxic Avenger, great music & great guy : ) and don’t forget that “Superheroes” CCC Rmx, is available for free download on CCC’s myspace… Future?!?! - Just finished an official rmx for the best Portuguese band in the world, Loto - officially remixing stuff for sweet labels as Kitsunè and Ekler’o’shock, - unofficially remixing a lot of tracks (stay tuned and check CCC’s myspace for free download) - producing tracks for the first CCC’s album... So the future is quite busy. Talking about gigs, CCC is trying to set up a tour, just to share some sweet music with crazy kidz, hoping to include Australia as well : ) You’ve been remixing some big songs like Justice’s “Genesis” and “The Party”, as well as Chromeo’s “Bonafied Lovin.” What makes a track attractive to you to remix? Mmmmm….It’s like when you go in a restaurant and you order the house’s speciality…you taste it, and then you start thinking “…it’s good but it could be better…I can use this, that…but I don’t like this…” Then you go home and you cook the same dish but in your own way…. it’s exactly the same with remixing…. If you are a dj/producer, you can easily understand…when CCC is listening to a track, an automatic procedure starts…starts to be focused on sounds, loops, breaks…and suddenly the magic happens….and CCC starts thinking ”…it’s good but it could be better…this part would be better like this, like that…I can take this part and reverse it, move it, loop it…” and that’s it…after few hours your rmx is ready… straight from the oven to the dancefloor Two of your tracks are now on beatport.com for people to buy online; your other tracks are available for download on your myspace. What’s your take on the changes in the music industry regarding the internet? Internet and myspace are the best inventions of the world, after the microwave of course, they give to a lot of young kidz the opportunity to show to the world their own skills…no more demo cd to be sent to labels, no more waiting ages for a stupid reply, you don’t need to be brother, cousin, friend or whatever to make it in the music business, if your music is good the world will know that…and that’s simply amazing…so guys, make music, make remixes, and post everything on blogs, myspace, everywhere, let the world judge your stuff…if it’s good, extremely good, you could be the next CHEWY CHOCOLATE COOKIES : ) What’s the scene like over where you’re playing? Have you heard anything about the scene here in Australia? CCC is based in London and here the scene is big, but CCC likes to spend a lot of time in Paris, and over there the scene is huge…Australia?!?! Some CCC’s friends played there and they say you guys are crazy…and it’s good, very good.. .can’t wait to play over there !!! What’s the weirdest experience you’ve ever had during a gig? After a 3 hours set of distorted basslines, crashes & cuts, a silly guy asked “…could you play some minimal stuff!?!?! Trentemoller?!??!...”….just to be nice & sweet and to show him that CCC cares about kidz…silence for 10 seconds and Boys Noize “& Down” : ) What are your top 5 favourite tracks at the moment? CHEWY CHOCOLATE COOKIES “Time" (coming soon…Ekler’o’shock) BOYS NOIZE “Lava Lava/& Down” (Boys Noize Records) CHEWY CHOCOLATE COOKIES “This is massive” (CDR) CAZALS “Life is Boring” CHEWY CHOCOLATE COOKIES Rmx (coming soon…Kitsuné) CHEWY CHOCOLATE COOKIES “Nothing you can do” (CDR) Finally, your sound is really different. What three words would best describe your music? MASSIVE, DISTORDED, NOISY Here are just some of their tracks. Their are heaps more to download on their myspace and beatport. I REALLY recommend visiting http://www.beatport.com/ and checking out their remix of Paramount by Dj DLG. Loto - Back to Disco (Chewy Chocolate Cookies remix) - EXCLUSIVE to Kids of Trashbags! 1 Comments:CCC are sooo crazy!

Faux Rock is a DJ and Producer from Vancouver in Canada who is focused on providing fist pumpin and club bangin tracks. After experimenting with music for the past seven years in other genres such as Punk, Indie/Disco, Prog Rock and Folk/Jazz, electronic music is now Faux Rock's binge of choice. He started in January of ‘07 screwing around with a computer by making poppish dance tracks and nine months later has exploded with a burst of solid remixes of The Toxic Avenger and Thieves Like Us. FCKN CREW!!!!!
posted by Mindgutter | Tuesday, November 13, 2007 | 8:14 AM | la_z_guido@hotmail.com ![]() It's no news that some seriously crazy music is coming out of France at the moment. That it is why it is no surprise that French up and comers "FCKN CREW" have such amazing tracks. Their latest instalment, Beatnicks is reminiscent of Mr Miyagi and Boys Noize, but with a distinct energy and playfulness that only Fckn Crew can get away with. Les petits pilous, an artist signed to the legendary Boys Noize Records recently found Fckn Crew's music and played it in front of thousands at a massive concert called LoonyLand overseas. I don't usually add video's to posts but today is an exception. Fkcn Crew have made a special videoclip for Beatnicks. This video shows Fckn Crew in all their playful glory as they mix and attempt to drink some gastly concuction. Fckn Crew have sent me 3 of my favourite tracks to share EXCLUSIVELY with The Kids of Trashbags. I hope you enjoy. Check em out on myspace here. P.S. Soon Mindgutter will be loading up a special mixtape for your listening enjoyment so check regularly for updates. 3 Comments:

Distortion Played LOUD: Culture Prophet Interview.
posted by Mindgutter | | 2:27 PM | la_z_guido@hotmail.com ![]() I've been playing Culture Prophet tracks pretty much on repeat since I first found them as I surfed myspace in my moments of pre-exam procrastination. I wanted to get to know more about these guys so I organised an interview with them. I present to you, Culture Prophet: So tell us how you guys got started making music. We have both been playing in different bands for over ten years. Both of us are multi-instrumentalists so in a lot of our bands we played different instruments. Currently we have two live projects, Culture Prophet and Backseat Dreamer (where we reverse the roles so I play drums and Sean is the front man). The two current projects are similar but at the same time are truly different. I would describe a few of your tracks (especially Hustler) as “distortion played loud”. What influenced your style? All of the music I create for Culture Prophet comes from my love of all forms of dance music. It changes constantly. Originally when i started the project in 2004 i was DJing a lot of old school electro (Debbie deb, Egyptian Lover, Mantronix), Early 80s italo (K.I.D., Japan), 80s rap (Digital Underground, NWA, JJ Fad), and tons of 70's funk (Gil Scott Heron, Parliment). The sound changes a lot depending on what i am currenty listening to. With new DJs, producers, and artists popping up everyday its a constant inspiration coming from all over the world. I think this is the most exciting and original time for dance music ever. With artists like Justice, Boys Noize, daft punk, Cut Copy, and Digitalism selling out shows all over the world I feel it is the most exciting time in dance music and it a constant inspiration for me. I take it you are from South Carolina in the USA, what’s the scene over there like? Have you had a chance to tour any other places? In South Carolina the scene is pretty small but the people that are about it are very very supportive. Its slowly becoming more popular it seems. We have only been able to play regional shows thus far spanning to Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and Florida. We are trying to play out of town shows as often as possible and hope to soon plan a tour. We are currently looking for some label support to help with funding something of that nature. Your music has been picked up by French music connoisseurs as there are a couple of blogs written about your music in French. What’s it like having people from the other end of the world recognising and pushing your music? It's completely awesome! We are huge fans of the current scene going on in France, Australia, and the UK to have anyone write about us that is involved in these scenes is an honor. We soon hope to get out to these places an become part of the great scenes going on there. You’ve got some pretty banging remixes of Justice, Chromeo and Digitalism; what projects have you got planned for the future? Currently working on an official studio EP., as well as tons of new remixes. We got our first official T shirt about to hit the web hopefully before december and a video for a new single. What are your top 5 favourite tracks that get you buzzing at the moment!? Boys Noize - Oh! Xinobi - BMX (Moulinex remix) Danger - Revolte at 22h10 Tom Deluxx - Drama Queen Revolte - 150hz There’s a picture with a speaker that caught fire on your myspace! What happened there?? HAHA! This is a funny story! We played this show in this little bar here in South Carolina called The Red Moon. It was tiny little place with no stage so we were playing right in the middle of the crowd which is always fun. Their PA wasnt very good though, and before we started playing I said I didnt know how it was going to hold up with what we were running. The guy running the sound said it would be fine, so we went on with the show. It was a packed house ass to ass all the way. I think we were in the middle of our third song and my friend walked up to me and said "Uhh. Michael I think that speaker behind you is on fire!" I turned looked at it and for some reason it didnt connect that is was really on fire so i kept playing. Maybe 3 more bars in to the song it all came together that I really did need to stop or not only was my drummer going to be burned alive but everyone could potentially get hurt. So we stopped the music and announced that the speaker was on fire. The owner was running the bar and I think she thought I was kidding so I had to say it about three more times before she finally evacuated the bar. So it ended a friday night dance party early and had everyone standing in the parking lot yelling that we burned it up. It was a disaster that ended strangly enough glorious. And finally… What should someone expect at a live Culture Prophet show? Dancing, loudness, sweating, energy, and the guarantee of a good time. Here are some bangers that these guys have produced. Be sure to give them some love on myspace. Hervé's New Thriller!!!
posted by Mindgutter | Thursday, November 8, 2007 | 3:13 PM | la_z_guido@hotmail.com Hervé's new track "Cheap Thrills" is a crazy rendition of Michael Jackson's "Thriller". His new take on this track turns the classic into a dancefloor banger that is sure to sweep across clubs as soon as dj's get their hands on it.Hervé is certainly no stranger to the scene. He works with Sinden under the alias of Count of Monte Cristal and has produced some killer tracks like Beeper and Tamborzuda. It's his work under the name of Hervé that is most striking. His remix of New Young Pony Club's "Ice Cream" has been played by internationals like The Bloody Beetroots who recently hit Trashbags and Kill the Radio. Another remix that has hit clubs hard is his remix of "Salmon Dance" by Chemical Brothers which turns the track more dance friendly and even more infectious. Be sure to visit his myspace and show him some love. You can buy most of his tracks from beatport.com. Here are his best tracks for your aural pleasure: Herve - Cheap Thrills (zshare alternative link) New Young Pony Club - Ice Cream (Herve Goes Bananas Remix) (zshare alternative link) Chemical Brothers - Salmon Dance (Herve Remix) (zshare alternative link) P.S.
