Horror down in Miami.
posted by Kx. | Thursday, February 28, 2008 | 7:11 PM | kevin.spec@gmail.com ![]() Yoo kids, Personally, i feel like this DJ/Producer is really under recognised in Australia, especially in Sydney with he's tracks posted on blog sites around the globe, there isn't enough attention focused onto Miami Horror, DJ and Producer from Melbourne, we have some crazy talent coming out playing along side huge internationals and he is one of them. Miami Horror would be classified as one of the best underground, 80s synths, disco DJ/Producer to come out of Australia with tracks that have some hard bass lines, crazy synths and catchy melodies, he grabs your attention with some flashy beats that would make you dance along too. Miami Horror has toured Europe and played along side some big Internationals but down in Australia, people don't really know about him much and it's about time you kids get into something better than your average shit. He is currently working on he upcoming EP which is out sometime soon, and I am lucky to have spoken with him, and asked him to send me a few tracks/remixes that he has made for your ears to what just to expect when he plays at Kill The Radio. posted by digs | Monday, February 25, 2008 | 7:46 PM | info@trashbags.net.au The new and harder generation.. The Trashbags POSSE djs"Welcome to the dark side".... LaLa LAND was at its best, being labelled one of those parties that people will remember for awhile, The Trashbags POSSE djs playing along side Cajuan & Felix Cartal, and with a horror show party to scare the pants of the devil himself - It was Chaos with lockdowns happening every hour. The festivity were all round, with blood thirsting zombies, and little nurses gone mad, to the tall man beetle juice, oh god the photos will state it all, roaming the streets at midnight, there was a full moon, and even the man wolf came out... "the Warewolf" It was a night to play, run a muck, and as the Trashbags kids always do, serve the darkside well. Hit the Trashbags POSSE djs playing live this week @ kill the Radio [1.3.08], and then Trashbags [8.3.08] And guess who is back? the German slayer juggernaut himself label dark and mysterious "Is YOU", we give you back, someone that will return from boys noize record. Futuristic Speaking
posted by Elle. | Saturday, February 23, 2008 | 5:29 PM | isamplified@gmail.com ![]() Having a nice chat with Manzur from Futurecop was just intensely stimulating. Exploding with talent, the duo are coming down to join the Trashbags posse in early June. I really like the name Futurecop!, how did that come about? A lot of people think its all about the whole 80s cyborg thing e.g robocop, which is great but it was actually to do with just looking into the future, time travel stuff – im quite into the whole looking into the future from an 80s movie point of view. But i'd rather people think i came up with the name coz of 80s cyborg movies – it makes more sense– so lets stick to that! Futurecop! Isn't me or a person its just a project encapsulating how I think certain people looked at life and future in the 80s. What do you think of the internet as a way of disseminating music? Has myspace played a big role in promotion? When i first started music i didn't really think of it as a kind of 'career' move i just wanted to put loads of pictures on myspace and music that reflected my look on life and have fun. I don't do music to impress anyone, or to be different i do it coz theres a sound i always wanted to create which is that 80s sci-fi / movie / tv show / cartoon synth sound, you know the one that you remember when you were a kid (basically i wanted to impress myself) and if other people like it then that's even better – i really never thought so many people would be the same as me and be really into my vibe. So myspace does reach a lot of people even if your not planning to! – its powerful coz artists can be innovative and create their own brand and people can relate. For me electronic music is a lot about brand, art, imagery etc not just music so it is very important to me. What do you think of countless music blogs making your tracks so easily available? Its wiked! It's the only way my music got heard to everyone. Blogs are very powerful. For me its all about getting my music heard and letting them feel what im feeling. Im only doing this to express myself and have fun. If one day i stop having fun doing this, then im just going to quit. Im also really into branding and building up hype – its exciting. Plus ive got 6 more songs on my laptop no one has heard yet which are 10 times better than the ones on my myspace – cant wait to release those on blogs too after ive finished them! You have a really impressive list of influences. How important do you think it is for an artist to draw from different genres? It's the most important thing for me. – you got to appreciate 'good' music whether its metal, thrash, hip hop or rock ballads etc etc. Even new music has to be good or what is the point. you give me a genre i bet i love something in one of them. With the futurecop! project im concentrating on a specific type of 80s music / soundtrack that's made you feel good when you a were a kid (nostalgic feeling) i.e stan bush soundtrack in the 80s transformers movie, maybe il do a project that's concentrating on thrash next time – you never know . Also my music as most will know is a lot to do with other forms of 80s pop culture for e.g 80s cartoons, tv shows, new york city in the eighties and movies from brat pack to sci-fi flicks, so movies are very important too with futurecop!. You guys are coming to Australia soon! Is this going to be your first time? What are you expecting from the Australian scene? This will be my first time in Australia but pete has been before (when he went around the world 2 years ago) – he loved Australia – and told me how everyone there appreciates 'future disco' music. I think its going to be awesome – i get great feedback from Australia and i know how much everyone loves pop music. I cannot wait to meet fans there too – its going to be ace! Is there anything in particular you want to do during your time here? Party, party, party, fun, fun, fun!!!! Do you find it hard to work when on tour? No way since all i need to make music is a mac, that's it! its really easy to make music now. Its great on a plane, because i can make music without my phone going off! My actual second brain is my laptop – i love it to bits! We are really excited about showing you guys a good time when you come down here! Do you still enjoy the occasional big night out? Every nights a big night – im quite an active person – so i can't sit still in one place for too long so im always trying to either work hard or play hard! Anyway you'll see how hardcore we are when we get to Australia!!! Ahhh we all know the Futurecop tracks which have been rightfully over-blogged inside out... here's a remix that I quite fancy. Mmmmm.. Crystal Castles- Alice Practice (Futurecop Remix) (Zshare) Crystal Castles- Alice Practice (Futurecop Remix) (Y.S.I) 0 Comments:
Bag Raiders will Steal your Soul
posted by Mindgutter | Monday, February 18, 2008 | 5:29 PM | la_z_guido@hotmail.com ![]() The Bag Raiders have officially hi-jacked the Australian music scene since they started producing. I was always a massive fan of their amazing remixes of KIM and Muscles but once they started creating their own tracks, Bag Raiders simply monstered crowds into a frothing dancing frenzy. The Bag Raiders EP is simply pimp. Fun Punch is pumping. Nil By Mouth is Epic. The Punch is bliss. After such a successful EP that had heaps of air time on Triple J, you would think these guys might deserve a bit of break. But instead, these talented artists have been working like fucking crazy on their recently released Bag Raiders Remixed EP. I have been waiting for this EP to be released for sometime. I got a taste of the Whitenoise remix of Fun Punch after the track leaked on the internet but wasn't able to get my hands on it till its official release. The Bag Raiders Remixed Ep is a brilliant listen. Check out beatport.com to get yourself a copy. We all know the infamous Kill the Radio is approaching this weekend. It will be a fucking monster. With Bag Raiders headlining, you just KNOW its gonna be a night of pumping bass and heavy synth action. Check out the bagraiders myspace here and show them a good time with some sweet sweet lovin. Here is the Bag Raiders remix of themselves. A totally new take on the awesome track, Fun Punch. Bag Raiders - Fun Punch (Bag Raiders Remix) (no YSI till I get back to Australia, sorry kids zshare will have to do) I STRONGLY recommend you suss out the whitenoise remix of Fun Punch. It really is the sex. Purchase it from beatport. Oh and we did a post on whitenoise recently here. Another cracking remix is the Knightlife reworking of Nil By Mouth which we featured a little while back on this blog. Bag Raiders - Nil By Mouth (Knightlife Remix) Well thats it for now. Be sure to send in your guestlists. You can catch Mindgutter 1st of March @ KTR. 500 Baht, Mindgutter love you long time ;) P.S. By entering KTR you are officially selling your soul. Cajuan back in Sydney Yo!
posted by Elle. | Friday, February 15, 2008 | 8:05 PM | isamplified@gmail.com ![]() Mr Cajuan is arriving to play for me (thats right only me) next Saturday @ La La Land and sent me a lovely mix which refused to upload itself onto Zshare but please take my word for it and download it. It is simply superb. Cajuan's Mix (Y.S.I) Also my interview with the talented deeejayyy producer, checkkk it: In your career as a DJ and producer what have been some of the highlights and lowlights so far? One of the big highlights was the previous Parklife tour i played in Australia. Imagine 12000 people jumping and screaming at digitalism´s performance on the last parklife tour. That was really awesome! Lowlights: I was travelling to Istanbul / Turkey with my greek passport. greeks and turkish were in war many, many years ago but it´s still kind of a strange vibe between both countries. in any case, i entered the immigration border offices. they simply were screaming at me in turkish. I couldn´t understand anything. shortly later they wanted to send me back to Germany where i live and didn´t let me in. no plane was leaving that day back to germany so they took me to a border office with some arabs and indonesian guy. door locked..... What happened? well, i was in Turkey two days after the Greeks established a new law where only "biometrical" passports are valid, even when the one i had in Turkey said it is valid till end of 2010. Anyhow, there was no exception for me, even when they spoke to the turkish promoter etc. to cut a long story short. i was staying the whole night in this locked border office with turkish movies, cameras all over the place and some little McDonalds food which my airline sponsored (ooooh, nice). anyhow - next day back to germany with lufthansa. than i went directly to the greek embassy and it took 6 weeks for the new passport. they didn´t feel guilty not to inform their greek people that a new passport is needed for travelling and there is also no forms which allow you to fly in between. Ooooh, i love greek democracy. What a nightmare! And this all happened shortly before my last Australian tour where I wasn't sure if I would have passport in time to do the Parklife tour 2007. Thank god it all went well as the tour was awesome. To come back to the good things as i don´t like to talk about bad things that much as they can happen but life goes on. I may work on a vocal session on my tune "raven" with Karen of the Australian band Young & Restless. Once we finish i will re-release the record with some remixes. So - fingers crossed that i will finish the track with her in Melbourne. This will be a goodie. What has drawn you to visiting Australia again? I love the country, the vibe, the people. There is a very good understanding towards the music I play. Aside of that I have a lot of friends and musicians I wanna see again, i. e. Lost Valentinos, Benni of Riot In Belgium, Midnight Juggernauts, Cut Copy, Bandits Posse, Trashbags, The Fuzzy Rockers, Ksubi Crew, Bang Gang, Lick It and all the others. How are you looking forward to playing alongside Felix Cartal and the Trashbag Posse Dj's at La La Land in Sydney? Either we´ll cook some hot eggs for you or do wrestling on two record players .... There will definitely be some action. Afterwards drive to Bondi Beach to make a handstand in the water while the sun is rising. Booyakah! What inspires you to produce the music you make? Inspiration is coming from everywhere and nowhere... may it be caused by a sunny day, a good Dj set, after a nice Theatre performance, a good movie, after the beach, a good book ..... I get inspirations from all over the place. Once I have a good vibe .... I run fastly to the studio and push the button to record what´s up in my mind. Bingo! And do you ever find it difficult to produce new sounds? Therefore much better to produce and write independent from any guidelines. This always brings the best result. This is how I did the "Raven" song. You've worked with some solid names in your time, anyone in particular you would like to work with? You've been all around the world and played at some of the world's biggest clubs and events, how would you compare these to your Australian gigs ? There is a much bigger understanding for an underground indie rock sound in Australia. Therefore I integrate a wider range of music I play at my Australian gigs. This, plus the good weather turns the Australian gigs always into a big indie pogo raving party which is always an outstanding big funtime. In any case we´ll have some big fun and thanks for the interview. 0 Comments:

DANGER LIVE @ TRASHBAGS
posted by Elle. | | 4:47 PM | isamplified@gmail.com ![]() If you read this blog, by now you would have an inkling at just how fuck-off amazing Danger's productions are. If you live in Sydney and are in your right mind you would've spent your last Saturday night at Trashbags. Naturally, you would have found yourself frozen in awe at the hauntingly brutal and powerful intensity that is Danger live. The crowd certainly agreed with me. Yu was more packed than I have previously witnessed with a seemingly never-ending line of hopeful fans. The Trashbag Posse Dj's did an incredible job of generating the hype with the freshest tracks reverberating across the dance floor. Everything fell completely silent a little before 1am... and a continuous chanting of Danger's name suddenly erupted. When a hooded mysterious character appeared and started playing, complete mania was conjured up in the crowd.... The overall atmosphere was just indescribable. With all sincerity, I don't think I can remember experiencing a set so moving. I don't believe it's possible to even establish a basis of comparison to the escapist and surreal qualities Danger's music has to offer. I am the biggest fan of dark and powerful music and his set had so much depth you could practically fall into it. A devastatingly haunting atmosphere was complimented perfectly by the projection of graphic art onto the walls of the club. The moving images of terror combined with the tumultuous music made me feel as though I were incarcerated within a surreal dimension. I wish I could find the exact words to describe the emotions conjured up from this man's set on Saturday. No words can replace the experience and the live recording merely offers a taste of the unbelievable-ness. If you reside in Sydney you can catch him again this Saturday @ Kill the Radio. I strongly urge you not to miss it for the world. Danger Live @ Trashbags Sydney (Y.S.I) Danger Live @ Trashbags Sydney (Zshare) 0 Comments:amazing!!!! thanks, anyone got the playlist?

posted by digs | Monday, February 4, 2008 | 4:08 PM | info@trashbags.net.au ![]() i just call it really "Trashbags Illuminate" - and what a weekend it was, the launch of something new, and special to hit the western Suburbs, the reception was a home welcome. The hands were raised, to make a symbol "the Triangle" the 3 point compass. It was amazing to see and feel the atmosphere of the launch party and the birth of Kill the radio. I've been saving some of these goodies really low profile, some stuff should be listened to, appreciated then blogged, its very different, its tough, but in its own way. I stumbled across a mixtape, by some local kids called "Smackt0wn" - press play and it started, it wasn't until i heard something special on track 5 - that really got me playing it over and over again, then track 10, 2 tracks that were absolutely mindblowing, and any dj should add to his set. - i contacted Smackt0wn and they were happy to provide the 2 tracks. After much enquiry from the Trashbags Mix cd mixed by Afters and cheapfrillz, there was 1 track in particular, that wasn't a track that was downloadable, or to be found. Its a re-edit, that drops hard, and tough. Afters (trashbags posse djs) made this edit, its something only great artists can make.
