A veteran of the hip hop world, he has produced a string of successful albums.His latest single "Charlie Brown" has been remix by collection of very successful artists including Gun's and Bombs, Dj Mehdi and Yuksek. I really dig the work of Gun's and Bombs who toured with Trashbags as our first international. Their remix of this track is exceptional. Also, Dj Mehdi, one of my favourite artists from the Ed Banger crew has done a fantastic job of remixing the track. I've included both remixes as they both offer very different sounds. The Gun's and Bombs remix is (as expected) a pure banger, whilst the Dj Mehdi remix offers a bit of his trademark funk. I stayed in tonight, or should I say last night which being Saturday. And it felt good just relaxing and chilling out instead of being out and about running a muck, but I think my body has programmed itself to stay awake on the weekends hence why I'm still awake. Anyways, enough of that. Since I stayed in last night, I caught up on some new music and made a mixtape with my partner in crime King Lee, but we'll get to that later. Now, I know the French produce some wicked music, but something tells me the Italians aren't too find behind. Crookers, Bloody Beetroots, Congorock, 3 Is A Crowd are the new breed of italian producers who are causing a storm in the scene at the moment. His Majesty Andre can be added to this group as his music is electrifying. He's slowly making his mark and with some well crafted productions, expect him to be up there with some of the top elite producers of Europe. Flosstradamus are a duo from America and these guys are cool. Very Cool!!... I'm a big fan of producers who are always doing something new and aren't always using the same sound over and over again. And Flosstradamus do just that. Using every type of genre you can think of and just making some sweet sweet music.... Check out their myspace if you don't believe me... This last song, I have no idea where I found it or even knew I had this track. But what a sweet find. It's like finding money in the pocket of a pair of jeans you haven't worn in a while. Just as I need some sweet tunes, Justice decide to release the DVNO single with some killer remixes by very familiar names. There is of course a banging Justice self remix. But there are remixes by some other cool French djs we all know and love. I'm talking about the almight Surkin from Institubes and Les Petits Pilous from Boys Noize Records (who will be touring with Trashbags VERY soon) The thing I like about these remixes is that they each offer very different sounds. The Surkin track has a very progressive feel to it whilst the Justice self remix makes it seem like they gave the original track steroids. Caught up in all these bangin' dance tracks i've forgotten the mysteriously dark enigmatic producer that opened the door leading me deep into the world of electro. That is until my friend presented me with the Trentemøller Chronicles the other week and catapulted me right back into my Trentemøller obsession. It began with my first listen to his life shattering remix of What Else Is There which is possibly the best remix ever made. I know everybody probably has it and has listened to it incessantly but my Trentemøller post wouldn't be complete without it. This remix is powerful, dark, mystifying, haunting... it permeates and invades you and if you don't have it I strongly urge you to download it and stay up all night listening to it on repeat. D.I.M from Boys Noize Records played Future Music Festival and Trashbags last week to massive crowds. This is DIMs 2nd tour in Australia having blown away Trashbags last year at Plantation and now for a second time at Trashbags at YU. He plays diiiiiiiiirty and heavy, which was a welcome treat for those at Future Music Festival which was filled with trance and house music (not my cup of tea really). I was lucky enough to be standing front and centre for both his Trashbags and Future Music Festival gig. And both times I was blown away. D.I.M has been very busy producing since releasing his Grammy Nominated "Sysiphos". He's remixed a whole bunch of Australian artists such as the Midnight Juggernauts, K.I.M and the Presets. Artists from overseas were certainly not neglected either. Junkie XL, Sta, Teenage Bad Girl, Franz and Shape and Chromeo have all been given the "DIM" touch. Aside from his remixing works, DIM has also been busy releasing EP's on firstly Turbo Records and now Boys Noize Records with "Is You". His latest track "Is You" has been remixed by the likes of JFK (one half of MSTRKRFT) and Les Petits Pilous (who will be touring with us in May). When this hugely popular track was dropped at Trashbags and Future, the crowd went completely nuts. I've raved on enough about his tracks, I think it's time for you check him out for yourself. A 2000 DMC Champion, he isn't one to stick to one genre. He is a man of many taste and it shows when it comes to his mind-blowing Dj sets and his world class productions. His diverse influences definitely show in his music with combining different elements from hip hop, heavy metal, baltimore, baile, rock, and electro and mashing it all up to create some wicked tuneage. We all know how everyone loves anything that is coming out of France that everyone wants to be like them, but this artist who will be touring down with Trashbags in September. Distort has his whole body in the industry with friends such as A-Trak, Danger, Bloody Beetroots, MSTRKRFT, and Boys Noize (just to name a few) and with a contact list filled with other artists that are favoured by the underground scene, you must know what kind of music he plays. Producer, DJ and also well known blogger, Distort runs he's own blog site, Kidzbycolette who Trashbags Kids proudly support and vice versa who gets world recognition with everyone hitting the french blog site for those tracks no one else could get and getting approximately 4000 hits per day, you know that you're doing something right. Distort is the party DJ, crazy producer and hard party animal playing all the music that is hard, distorted (like his name) and banging. His tracks have a futuristic sound mixed with a old school sound and not forget the hardness of it such as "Tetris" & "Super Nintendo" and that's not all that is coming. He has an EP coming out soon in April, be sure to come see him down on his OZ tour with Lillica Libertine in September. I've been lucky enough to be speaking with him, and in his own words "big big big big crazy OZ tour", he is extremely excited to come down and party with the posse and witness the Trashbags Experience. He was kindly enough to send me his recent mini-mix for what to expect in september when he comes down and plays, with everything from distortion, disco, hard and banging is pretty much everything we want at Trashbags. And Where When How!! did this freakishly multi-talented young man (finally!) appear? REDIAL is fast becoming one of Sydney's most sought after musicians with his productions and remixes being showered with a frightening amount of attention and distinction. Sponge Bob is one lucky sponge! Hope he can soak it all up. The Fire and Reason are a band from New York that has created quite a stir in the music industry. They are fronted by former model, Bella (the girl stradeling spongebob). Their music has been noticed around the world and has captured the attention of superstar french producer Toxic Avenger. The Toxic Avenger remix of their new track "NME" is a result of an online collaboration over myspace. Just another example of how the internet is changing things for the music industry. I know The Fire and Reason are in the studio at the moment working on a new album so keep your eyes and ears on their myspace for updates. Having a remix CV of Bonde Do Role, Black Ghost and even New York legend Armand Van Helden, he has just added Sinden and Unkle to his already impressive CV. His first solo EP will be out soon on Counterfeet (label run by Switch & Sinden), which includes Mars & Theme. I heard Theme on Herve's and Sinden's Esstenial Mix earlier this year and by god, WHAT A FUCKEN TRACK. I almost cause a car accident when I first heard it. But til then enjoy these 2 massive remixes. Dancefloor killers fo shizzle. I recommend his remix of Restless, he has done a top notch job. Can't wait to drop it in my sets. With their tribal/dingy bedroom drum beats, soulful singing, unique sythns and playful guitar lines, these guys are being compared to the likes of The Artic Monkeys, The Rapture and The Klaxons. On top of that they had Erol Alkan produced their album. Impressed yet????? They're easily one of the most progressive acts to explode out of the U.K The 2 tracks I have posted are my favourites and I have 2 killer remixes to go with them. But check out their myspace to hear the other great music they have made. Bathroom Gurgle, is one of those songs where it takes you on a little trip, starting with some gritty grooves, glam drums and dark sythns, and then out of nowhere it morphs into this huge prog-rock tune with out-of-control tempo changes. This will definitely get your head bopping. Lillica Libertine (who will be touring Oz in September) has done a awesome job remixing this song. He has made it darker and mysterious with some nasty riffs and banging bass. Played by some of the big boys of the industry by the likes of D.I.M and Erol Alkan, this track is a must hear. Bathroom Gurgle (Lillica Libertine Rmx) (zshare) The Bears Are Coming is a lot more chilled out, but this has to be one of the most original songs I have heard in ages. With its tribal infused beats and ravey sythns, this would be the perfect song to listen to after a night out. Also, Partyshank's remix is just ace. Quirky and Fidgety, this track had me sit up and pay attention. The Bears Are Coming (Partyshank Rmx) (zshare) Don't forget Kill The Radio is on tonight @ The Roxy. This will be a corker of a night with the Trashbag Posee Dj's headlining and other crazy local acts to get your feet moving....DO NOT MISS OUT!!
