Flash! posted by Mindgutter | Monday, June 30, 2008 | 9:03 PM | la_z_guido@hotmail.com It's been a few days since I last posted. I was in the north-west part of Greece in a remote village in the mountains. Thus no internet access. But I have returned. Not to Corinth, but to the village where my family originate from. It's in the mountains overlooking the sea and beaches. I have had some tracks that I've wanted to post for the last week but Greek Windows is exceptionally difficult to navigate. But alas! I have overcome this problem and am very happy to present you the few tracks which have been played on repeat on my Mp3 player whilst I lay on the pebble beaches. The first track I want to show you is by an artist called Rayflash. He used to be known as Drinking Beer Cat but has thankfully changed his name. His latest track called "Flash Dancer" is simply exceptional. Especially when you get to about mid-way through the track and it breaks into some serious synth and vocoder (possibly voice box) action. Rayflash - Flash Dancer (zshare) (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) I like to theme things. I guess this stems from my neuroticism. So the next track is from Mr Flash! It's called "Over the Top" and comes from Ed Rec Vol. III. It's one of my favourite tracks from the compilation. Mr Flash - Over the Top (zshare) I honestly would find any excuse to blog one of my favourite bands of all time... Queen! So as promissed. More Flash action. One of my favourite Queen songs that hasn't been bastardised by shitty boy bands: Queen - Flash (zshare) That's it from me. Till next time ;) Πολλή Αγάπη, Mindgutter Hmmm... Now for another fact I believe. Greek Fact #3: To get to the north of Greece I had to travel by car for 5 hours in 40 degree heat. But it wasn't the heat that was making me uncomfortable. It was the roads and lack of respected road rules. To save money, most roads are 1 and a half lanes each direction. So to overtake someone you have to go onto the opposite side of the road. (usually whilst travelling at 130 km/h in a 90 zone). And to my horror, this occurs even when there is only 1 lane. This might explain why there are so many head on collisions. I thought the Pacific Highway was bad! 0 Comments:Eternal Sunshine posted by Elle. | Friday, June 27, 2008 | 7:32 PM | isamplified@gmail.com ![]() & Eternal Darkness of the Spotted Mind m83 - Kim and Jessie (datA Remix) (Zshare) Bloc Party- The Pioneers (m83 Remix) (Zshare) Midnight Juggernauts - Shadows (M83 Remix) (Zshare) all three are beyond incredible 4 Comments:

thank guys Who wants some Lovejuice?? posted by Mindgutter | Thursday, June 26, 2008 | 5:04 PM | la_z_guido@hotmail.com I have to say... After listening to the rejected Justice Fabriclive Mix quite sometime ago, I have to admit that although I really enjoyed the mix, I wasn't really expecting the whole 80's disco, Valerie sound to get big. In fact, back then I didn't even know what the hell Valerie was.I guess it goes to show what kind of foresight Justice have and why they are at the top of the music food chain. One artist featured on the Fabriclive mix was SymbolOne with their track "Lovejuice". The legend states that the two members of SymbolOne are long lost twins who once reunited, decided to make music. I am a really big fan of this disco anthem. The recent reworking of this huge track by our one and only Danger makes this song very dancefloor friendly. You will love both the original and the remix. SymbolOne - Lovejuice (zshare) SymbolOne - Lovejuice (Danger Remix) (zshare) If anyone gets their hands on a high quality mp3 version of the Danger remix, let me know ;) Πολλή Αγάπη, Mindgutter ![]() Hmmm. Wasn't gonna do another fact but might as well. Greek Fact #2: Petrol prices are a staggering 1.30 Euro's per litre. That's $2.12 (AUS) p/L. You might say its more expensive coz of the Aussie dollar being weak against the Euro but Greeks are still being screwed by the huge prices coz they earn much less than us here in Oz. 6 Comments:JC’est génial de pouvoir suivre les étapes d’un projet tel que le tien.e m'aime beaucoup sa publication, recevez une forte embrassade, merci beaucoup.

By Darker posted by Elle. | | 1:20 AM | isamplified@gmail.com ![]() I just finished exams! I feel ridiculously good but i'm still pretty exhausted tonight so i'm just gonna chill like ice cream.. I really hate it when people ask me what music I listen to because I hate saying I listen to everything and trying to name a few artists which showcase the wide variety of genres I follow is extremely hard. I just finished reading this book called 31 songs and I really like the idea of picking out a selection of songs which have played a large part in your life. Songs that come with associative feelings/sensations. Songs that you force other people to listen to and get annoyed when they don't affect them in the same way. Sometimes songs and films express who you are perfectly and it's quite hard to describe the connection involved. It's a lot more complicated than a series of images and often has nothing to do with the lyrics/production. I've been trying to come up with a mental list of songs i've been obsessed with but the thought of ranking them or limiting them to a certain number is painful so i'm just going to post them once in a while. Radiohead- Talk Show Host (Zshare) Echo & The Bunnymen- The Killing Moon (Zshare) Nouvelle Vague- The Killing Moon (Zshare) (cover) Also... Happy Holidays yo! My bender shall start tomorrow and here are some new tracks to dig into! Dizzee Rascal- Stand Up Tall (Radioclit Remix) (Zshare) Boy 8 Bit-Fog Bank (Jack Beats Remix) (Zshare) I'm also currently downloading Girl Talk's new album (yes I paid for it). I've been following the producer ever since I heard his uplifting beautifully chopped up remix of “I want your soul” which hit me with abagazillion endorphins. I guess there is an undeniable similarity amongst his remixes which is the only fake blood criticism i've been hearing. On the other hand it's the kind of style I expect him to work into his productions and i'd be disappointed if he tried something drastically different. I'm pretty much a sucker for chopped up vocals, intense breakdowns/vocal drops. Then again, I'm not a musician so I tend to fall for the simplest music tricks. I also don't mind the not-so-inconspicuous branding of his tracks. Litte Boots- Stuck On Repeat (Fake Blood Remix) (Zshare) (Highly Recc.) By Lykke Li posted by Elle. | | 6:24 PM | isamplified@gmail.com ![]() I belatedly decided to take a listen to Lykke Li The swedish girl is still growing on me but i'm sure (like Annie) she will find herself with some pretty unbelievable big-name remixes under her belt Undeniably there is something so comforting about whiny-pop songs that catapult you back to your unrequited teenage infatuations. I guess i'm still on the fence with her original tracks but I am quite taken with the Kleerup song and the Fred Falke mix is cute Kleerup- Until We Bleed (feat. I should have filled out my forms properly before I set off for Greece :SI have dual citizenship for both Greece and Australia and Greece have compulsury military service for 1 year for all males over the age of 18. So when I was moving through immigration when I touched down at Athens, the nice Greek lady looked at my passport and her computer with confusion. She says in perfect english "Why does it say here to not let you out of the country?" I knew why... I haven't served my term in the army yet!!! Well luckily my stay in Greece is only for 28 days so I should be able to return to Australia as long as I don't stay in Greece for longer than a month. Had I stayed over 30 days and tried to leave, I would have ended up in handcuffs at the airport. !!! Happy Days !!! Besides this, I am having a rather awesome time and have a crazy good tan after only 1 day. The amazing beaches, coffee, food and booze are keeping me happy. At the moment, I am in Corinth and the closest thing to electronic music in the clubs and cafes is Kanye West's "Stronger". But, it is only a weekday so hopefully the music will get better by the weekend. I have been getting my music fix through my trusty Iriver which has been feeding me the banging distorted tunes I regularly crave. One such track that has me in a happy place and is regurlarly repeated on my MP3 player is Para One's remix of Boys Noize. I've been hearing this track get played more and more since We Love Sounds and I think it's already one of those big songs you're certain to hear on a Sat night. Boys Noize - My Head (Para One Remix) (zshare) I hope you enjoy. It's my favourite track from the Oi Oi Oi Remixed CD at the moment. Πολλή Αγάπη,΄ Mindgutter P.S. I want to include a random fact about Greece at the end of each post whilst I'm over here. Fact #1: Shops close at 2 pm to allow people to return to their families for lunch and have a ciesta (arvo snooze) before they reopen at 5:30 pm. They then close at 10pm each week-day. Dinner is usually served at 10:30 or 11 and it's common to have kids and people wandering around local hangouts at 2am. 0 Comments:Trashbags- The Massacre 10min Snippet! posted by MANAGEMENT | Tuesday, June 24, 2008 | 7:47 PM | info@trashbags.net.au Its been over 8 months since we have seen another trashbags Promo CD come from our favourite local boys. It is even rarer that the artist is of the ripe old age of 17!I am talking about Kurtech who comes from a small town near Melbourne. A couple of words I would use to describe his tracks is "Cinematic" and "Grand". This isn't really a surprise as Kurtech was inspired by making music for movies that his film class made. The first track I would like to share with you is called Hometown. When I listen to this track I envision a wide shot of quiet surburbia (pictured above) with the camera suddenly swooping down and following a paper-boy on his bicycle riding down the street doing his rounds. I love the dramatic nature of his music. I think you will too! Kurtech - Hometown (zshare) The next track I have for you is called Figurines. This track is very funky and kinda has me picturing a bunch of swarve mobsters (or pimps) strutting their stuff down the street. Kurtech - Figurines (zshare) Now before I get onto his killer remixes (which is what drew my attention to this young producer in the first place) I want to show you a track called Monocle. Kurtech - Monocle Ok. Now onto the BIG GUNS! The previous 3 tracks are emotive and dramatic. The next 2 remixes are club bangers! His remix of 11h30 is the best remix of Danger I've heard to date. It has an awesome build up and it teases you throughout the track as you expect it to explode into the chorus but it just keeps building. Danger - 11h30 (Kurtech Remix) (zshare) I have been blogging a few Daft Punk remixes of late, but I'm not sorry about posting this amazing reworking of Aerodynamic. Daft Punk - Aerodynamic (Kurtech Remix) (zshare) It's a good idea to visit his myspace. Also be sure to check out an interview with Kurtech on Asian Dan. I'm not sure what exactly incited a sudden interest but after spontaneously deciding to acquire an album I became extremely taken with the band. It took a while to grown on me (when I first heard them I thought my stereo was broken). Yes, the music is ghostly/haunting/ethereal but my favourite aspect is the use of instrumentation. Its rare that a band places the instruments as the central character in place of the vocals, which are relatively soft and essentially used to merely compliment. I think it's the first acoustic song I've ever heard at a Trashbags event and it was an absolute cracker. It's amazing in its simplicity. Not sure who does this cover. If anyone knows, let me know!! Alphabeat - Digital Love (Daft Punk Cover Version) (click here for zshare) Another remix of good old Daft Punk is by Mighty Vybz. I've had this track for aaaaggggeeees but never got around to blogging it. So here you have it! Daft Punk - Prime Time of Your Life (Mighty Vybz Remix) (click here for zshare) (deleted by request) I have another real dirty "D" word... And nothing is dirtier than Dilemn. He's produced a brilliant remix of Technologic that sounds like none of the other (rather poor) remixes of this track. I guess a word I would use to describe this track is "Phat". It has a heavy bassline that is just explosive. The Posse Dj's played this track during their closing set at We Love Noize. It definately put a smile on my face. Daft Punk - Technologic (Dilemn Edit) (click here for zshare) And as a special bonus, I'm gonna include a remix of one of his latest tracks "Stopless". I really love both the original and the remix. Amazing tracks you should check out beatport. But for now... Dilemn - Stopless (The Phat Riderz Remix) (click here for zshare) Trashbags on Sat with Futurecop! That's something you should check out. I imagine it will be epic. Much Love, Mindgutter 10 Comments:

The one you upped is an acoustic version (perhaps live?) of their ... album cover version.
By This is Alphabeat. Please Credit them. Fa Fa FAAAAAA
By Ok. BTW this is the same vocal track as the version on Alphabeat's myspace page. If you don't hear that, perhaps music should be a hobby, and not a passion, career, infatuation, love, desire, lifestyle for you. I believe this accoustic version came before the version on their own page- Remixed by DJ's named on other music blogs.

i too have been keeping a close eye on the CCC gang. Having heard every track they've released thus far, I wholeheartedly agree with you that these kids are not only reintroducing that french-touch sound, but also pioneering a whole "cerebral dance" movement - and the rochelle and plastic operator remixes are (bar-none) the best example of this - nasty build ups that crescendo into high-pitch /tempo chaotic synths.

By A walk down memory lane. posted by MANAGEMENT | | 2:56 PM | info@trashbags.net.au [Kansas at their Prime]I have always been a person that loves his 80s. well its only natural, i was born in the 80s, so i grew up to my parents playing that music, and i'm sure it would have been the case with most of people, even the 90s kids grew up to 80s, the late 70s to the early 80s was pretty much the epic point of music, with the guitar riffs and solo, and males would actually sing, - Now they are rockstars. What i'm starting to enjoy now, is that the music now a days are coming back with the heavy influence of the 80s synth sound, which i'm finding remarkable! There is a small playlist i play on my Cd player downstairs, its my personal stash of the greatest music [to my opinon]. I thought i'd share it with all of you, i have added kansas a rock band that was late 70s with a famous song called "Carry on my wayward son" the Vocals are amazing on this song. On top of this, these songs are currently getting dropped at clubs to this date, as old classics, although i don't hear enough of it, its only around the corner when it will happen. i hope you enjoy these as much as i do, consistently. Although quite expensive, I am completely smitten with the band ( that is Jón Thor Birgisson (vocals, guitar), Georg Holm (bass), Kjartan Sveinsson (keyboards/piano), Orri Páll Dýrason (drums) I will go to extremely draining lengths to see them live... (I plan to travel down and break into Splendour in the Grass the next day to see them again) There is something so surreal and escapist to their sound. It possibly has something to do with being from Iceland.. after spending the afternoon listening to icelandic artists such as Bjork, Múm and Sigur Ros I have developed some intensely beautiful and alien visions of what Iceland would be like. I desperately want to visit this mysterious land and simultaneously am scared of ruining the entrancing quality it occupies in my imagination. Sigur Ros are definitely one of my top artists and they are set to release their new album Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust (With a buzz in our ears we play endlessly) on June 23rd 2008 A pre-sale for the album will begin on www.sigurros.com on June 2nd and anyone who pre-orders will then be able to access a stream of the full album from June 9th. (for desperate fans like me) When I found out about Sigur Ros's new album i think my heart skipped a beat (or something equally corny) and I instantly downloaded their single Gobbledigook (available for free download on their website). I'm not sure how I feel about it. It has this tribal-ish/guitar-ish/pounding/animal-collective-esque tone to it which just doesn't cater to my selfish emotional expectations of the band. I've always listened to their incredibly shattering songs and really liked the whole "life can be so sad but beautiful and worth appreciating" type of sound Either way, I'm really anxious to hear the rest of the album Here are my favourite Sigur Ros tracks which have kept me company many-a-rainy & lonely nights Sigur Rós- Sæglópur (Zshare) Sigur Rós- Sæglópur (Y.S.I) Sigur Rós- Gong (Zshare) Sigur Rós- Gong (Y.S.I) And here is their new single.. which I am still getting my head around.. The Response was unbelievable, i remember myself, i needed to lay down to grab my breath @ Yu last month. It was Chaos, a Deep bassline, with another track LPP had called "Housie Preview" worked well together. 40 Seconds was put together with a sample of good old robocop, and who would ever expect from the scene, where they are testing the New range of FutureCop,. Well i think it was, it has been well over 4 years since i have last seen this movie, Regardless, its along those lines. Catch the Proxy new Album as he has been behind close doors working on, from what i am aware, 40 Seconds & Dancing in the dark will feature on it. But what i'm really interested in, is what happens to his master track called "Raven" the likes of Erol alkan, and boys noize himself have dropped it, and fuck me, Its super Crazy! - i'm sure it will hit the album, it has too!
