With the thumping bass lines, heavy synths and soaring vocals, I see Bipolar Badwise going far. Anyways, they go by the name Krylon and have been hitting the blogsphere for a while, after seeing a list of blogs that have blogged these kids, I thought to myself, for being 15 and producing music like this, they must be doing something good right? Well I have to say, you're right. These two kids age 15, have been playing together for the past year but also share that connection together not only as good friends since junior high, but neighbours. They started producing 8 bit songs, and mixing tracks from their favourite DJs and producers they both liked, then started to produce the stuff they have now and I have to say, it is how we like it. Their influences are, The Toxic Avenger (August 07), New Order, Danger (February 08), Fckn Crew, Miami Horror, Justice, Kavinsky, Bloody Beetroots and Michael Jackson just to name a few, and some of these international acts have toured down with Trashbags in the past months. I guess it just seems right that influences like that are seen throughout their tracks. It's not the first time we've blogged young kids making crazy music, such as Danny from Melbourne, so I'm guessing these kids are learning at a younger age and kicking out some hard bassline distorted music. They are currently working on some new productions and remixes in the pipeline, they also are going to release an EP aswell called Noise! Noise! Noise! Don Rimini made a huge impact when Crookers remixed their track "Let Me Back Up" which absolutely demolished the first half of 2008. MGMT (Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden) have been around for a while but just recently exploded into the scene and have been touring around the world, playing festivals and concert, packing out arenas, i am proud to say they will set foot into Australian shores in December with sold out shows across Australia. Kids being one of my favourite songs from their album Oracular Spectacular, it was a must that i let you KIDS from Trashbags enduldge in this treat. It is absolutely joyful, and still has that youthful feeling in the original piece, but 2manydjs have added a crazy bassline still keeping that catchy melody and lyrics originally in the track. If you watch the video clip, approximately within the middle of the song has a crazy wind up that will definitely rip dance floors apart. Soulwax & 2manydjs, will play at parklife national tour around Australia, but in Sydney on Sunday 5th October. Especially in this genre.Digitalism create beautiful, dark and bittersweet pieces overflowing with intensity. I have a seemingly unhealthy attachment to each and every song. I have to say I'm always a little skeptical and nervous right before I listen to a new single from a band I really love. What if they don’t stay true to their style? What if all I hear is an overproduced deviation of something from their last album? I’m starting to think that their hit “Cheap and Cheerful” could well become the new D.A.N.C.E in remixing power… having already being remixed by the likes of The Bloody Beetroots, SebastiAn, Mathematikal and now FAKE BLOOD. Before I launch into the remixes themselves… I have to point out that Fake Blood is the most mysterious and hyped producer at the moment. Who is Fake Blood? Seriously? So everyone thought he was Boy 8 Bit for a while… either way all the conspiracy theories point to Fake Blood being an alias of an already existing producer. According to Pelsky even his name is an enigma… Fake Blood proclaims himself as “Sang Foley” a name which allegedly easily translates to 'Fake Blood'. I’m sure the real deal isn’t as exciting as this brilliant marketing scam but the rumours sure are wicked fun. Either way, Fake Blood is jetting over to Australia soon so I’m going to make sure I play detective and uncover some clues for you all. Now to the music yo!… I’m incredibly happy SebastiAn came out of hiding… I haven’t seen anything new from him for months (which is like decades in blog years). SebastiAn rips into the song with his signature sound. This remix is well executed and I got that intense breakdown I was longing for but it’s not really a stand-out SebastiAn remix for me. Maybe I’m being a little harsh on my beloved French producer but I have high expectations for this guy and this remix just doesn’t drive me to the brink of insanity like some of his previous work. The Kills- Cheap and Cheerful- (SebastiAn Remix) The Bloody Beetroots have also conjured up an awesome remix and Mathematikal have worked their idiosyncratic charm into the song. The Kills- Cheap and Cheerful ( The Bloody Beetroots Remix) The Kills- Cheap and Cheerful (Mathematikal Rerub) Fake Blood wins though. Hands down. This remix strikes me emotionally somehow. Full of gutter grandiosity and the unique breakdown absolutely kills it. Spits on it and destroys it.

I have been incredibly smitten with the French duo for god knows how long. Guillaume Manbell & Greg Kazubski met on the internet one day and started creating some downright filthy tunes to take over the world with. Kinda makes me wonder why I’ve been favouring disco over maximal these days. And get this… every copy of the limited single comes with a signed Polaroid! Following on from that amazing M83 remix I posted before, DatA has released his nouveau single Rapture and it is absolutely sensational! For one it features Sebastien Granger from the LEGENDARY Death From Above 1979 and I just adore his voice! So versatile, heartfelt and memorable from the very first listen. I have been waiting to post this track for a while and believe me this is definitely not a disposable blog hit.. it will no doubt hit the top charts this year! DatA – Rapture The Pacific! Remix comes close to the original.. I have played both versions at least 20 times and they are both delightfully catchy! Pacific Alters the song perfectly. Now that they have returned and are well rested, I thought I would catch them and ask them a few questions before they flee South Carolina on a huge US wide tour. For those who don't know Culture Prophet, describe your sound and what you're all about. We make heavy electro that is inspired by everything from heavy metal to baltimore, rap to new wave and everything in between I've noticed you've reworked your most well known track "Hustler". What changes did you make? We re-mastered it mainly but when the re-mastering took place i noticed some things wrong with the vocal tracks so i did some fixing to those as well. All the music is the same though just remastered and remixed You recently did a big European tour. What were some of the highlights? It is truly hard to say which were highlights. Every show we played, every person we meet, and everywhere we went had its own highlight. We had an amazing time and we are looking forward to doing it again ASAP! Europe is a haven of world class producers. Did you get to meet and hangout with some like-minded artists? We sure did. We meet Sidechains, Man and Man, Fckn Crew and Toxic Avenger just to name a few. They were all completely amazing! What were some of the cultural difference between Europe and the U.S. did you find most striking? Haha Well people seem to be a little more about the show in europe than the US but having not played some of the bigger parties here in the US I can't really say that yet. So we will just have to see And finally... Tell us about your live shows! Anything crazy happen whilst on tour? Girls trying to tell me to fight there huge british boyfriends for no reason at all. Truly she said this guys from South Carolina and he will kick your ass to a huge body building man. Its not just a lucky song, he does have a solid background; from the age of 5 he started on the piano, by the age of 12 he taught himself playing the guitar. - throughout his school years his main was focus was on live production [events & theatre].
