Australia is known for three things around the world - beautiful beaches, beautiful people and killer four-to-the-floor beats. I could discuss all three in great lengths with great enthusiasm, but I will stick to the latter for our purposes today.

Coming from Canada and seeing the vibrant, wild nightlife in Australia for almost a year was an experience unto itself. I learnt in great detail what it means to be a true trashbag - and I have now returned to my home country and have begun teaching others the way of the trashbag. It's going really well.

I have enjoyed so so many toons out of Australia over the last year that the least I can do is return the favour and show what Canadian producers have been busting out in the last few months.

So lets start things off with a shout out to Donald Trump. He hasn't been getting a whole lot of shout outs lately so I figured I'd step up.

Here's an amazing intro brought to you by Team Canada - a Canadian duo who is playing in my home city tomorrow night and heading straight from the club to the airport - direct to Tokyo. Have fun boys. Somehow I doubt that will be a problem.

Another notable recent collaboration, the wild Frenchman and the majestic Canadian - Surkin and Chromeo are at it again. They came together, threw some cheeky lyrics on White Night and here we have it. This track will be sweeping the clubs faster than you can say Chrome Night.

Now one name that has been hard to miss lately is that of Deadmau5, a Canadian out of Toronto whose productions seem to have exploded and gained worldwide recognition over the last nine months.

There is no doubt in my mind that if you have been to a club in Australia over the last 6 months, you have heard this Deadmau5 Daft Punk edit - full and fat and an absolute banger.

Hey guys! Sorry I’ve been a little blog-negligent lately… I guess it’s that time of year when I’m hyperventilating from all my overdue assignments and any spare time I get I prefer to stay clear of the computer as to remain somewhat sane. Sydney has become delightfully warm and we are almost back to beach weather. The past few weeks have been great for Trashbags! Teenage Bad Girl were SENSATIONAL… Plantation is a pretty intimate venue and the mosh pit we had was unbelievable… I was a little tired from Earthdance festival so I had the opportunity to witness the spectacle of animosity from a distance and it was definitely something to be remembered. Lillica Libertine played a superb set also and I think both acts had a fairly good time in Australia…

There are so many new music releases/discovered artists/ amazing remixes I have been collecting and my ‘to-blog’ list has become painfully huge. I’m kinda scared of checking my email in case more good music comes my way. Anyway I promise I will get to everything but I’m just going to throw up an interview I did with the amazing Fear Of Tigers not long ago. I am a big fan of his and wanted to strap down an interview in case he explodes anytime soon. His remix choices are fantastic and his originals show lots of promise.

Alright so do I dare ask the obvious, the painfully predictable …. What is this name all about? And who is behind it?
Fear of Tigers is me producing from my spare room in South East London. As for the name, it’s all I could find on myspace at the time! I wish there was some meaning behind it but it just popped into my head and more importantly it was available!

What's your musical history like? Have you ever produced under another alias? You can never tell these days musicians seem to have a million side projects
I used to make more traditional house music under a couple of different names but I fell out of love with the whole dance scene a few years ago and don’t look back on those tracks with too much fondness, so they’re top secret!

You know, I accidentally stumbled upon your PNAU remix over at Valerie and started ferociously downloading everything else I could find by you. I love your remix choices! “With You Forever” & “Nightdrive With You” are two of my favourite songs. Is there any specific thought process going on in terms of deciding what to remix?
For me it’s got to be a track that really stands out. The vocal on ‘With You Forever’ is so off the wall it was just begging to be remixed, not least because the original was so slick. With Anoraak I was just bowled over by the beauty of the melody and the lyrics.

I really like your original productions also! Sex with Robots makes me really anxious... is pretty intense! What’s coming up? Who are we remixing next?
Thanks! I’ve got tonnes of half finished instrumental tracks at home that are just crying out for a vocal. Ideally I need to get a singer but I can’t find one – apply within!

Are you a DJ as well as a producer? I find that producers are taking over the DJ market lately.
I spent 4 years of my life as a DJ in the Spanish holiday island Tenerife. Although it was great fun, I was literally playing records for 5 hours a night (or more) 6 days a week for four year. I still like to play out occasionally but I have no ambitions to make a living from it again!

How does a tour sound? Any dream destinations?
Yes please! I think my dream destination would be a tour of the Nordic countries Norway, Sweden, Denmark Finland and Iceland. I’ve never been to Australia though and have heard great things about the music scene out there.

Have you heard the new bloc party album? It’s really good.
I’ve only heard the single ‘Mercury’ so far and if that’s anything to go by it looks like another great album!

What has been dominating your listening habits lately?
I’m on a old school tip! Lots of Pixies, My Bloody Valentine, Brian Eno but I love the new Sigur Ros album, it’s truly next level stuff.

Whats your favourite TV show? I quite like the stuff you Brits come out with… like the Mighty Boosh and Black Books and all that old stuff with Hugh Laurie
I’m pretty much addicted to a US series call The Wire, if you haven’t seen it go and check out series one now – it will change your life! (well maybe not but it is very very good!)

I like to do a bit of myspace stalking.. I see you are from London! I was in London a few years ago but I was pretty oblivious to the music scene (and underage) but if I could go back in time I would have loved to visit ‘Trash’ and seen Erol Alkan… have you ever been?
My favourite UK club in a night called Speed Queen which happens in the Northern city of Leeds. It’s a pretty much anything goes night and people are a lot more friendly and down to earth than in London. I won’t go out in London unless there’s a champagne reception!

I have to say I love your list of influences!! I’m also just reading your blog on myspace now. It’s really cool when musicians indulge in philosophical life questions

Yes I’ve often pondered the great mysteries of life. If Amy Winehouse falls over in a nightclub and there are no paps on hand to witness the event did it really happen? On this basis I’m going to synthesize the answer into my next track and dedicate it to you!

When Teenage Bad Girl & Lillica Libertine blew the roof off Plantation!

Hey guys, this is the moment everyone's been waiting for, when EVERYONE went crazy and does not remember the night when Teenage Bad Girl from France and Lillica Libertine from the UK rocked Trashbags off its foundation.

That something takes shape in three tracks to destroy (yes literally fucking erupt) any dancefloor.

It's not very often you hear a decent remix of public enemy, or rap in general. This is everything a rap remix should sound like and more.....and that bass, holy shit.

Tonite Only takes away the annoying vocals and the 'every fucking electro house song has the same beat' rymthem and leaves you with something simplistic and cool-like (for lack of a better word). This is for sure a dancefloor filler.

Rome Unearthed

Romulus and Remus of Trashbags fame have been pumping out some heavy tunes of late. Their stellar track RAR did a good job of making my ears bleed. And now their follow-up epic was able to top that.

Rome from the start creates an atmosphere of impending doom. Then the heavy synth and banging bass kicks in and everything goes to hell. I couldn't be happier about being the first to blog this amazing track. These boys are very talented and I can't wait to see what else they come up with.

U are entitled to your opinion.

I really rate the track. Some might not but thats life. Not everyone has the same taste.

You should see how much Redial is slammed on Discodust in the comments section. And his production is some of the best stuff to come out this year.

I appreciate all feedback both positive and negative.

At the end of the day, it's music. Some will dig, others won't.

Wow this song is amazing. Based in Sydney, and a side project of Luke Steele [sleepy jacksons] & Nicky littlemore [PNAU], they have created Empire of the Sun - absolutely amazing!

Redial - Valve

[Inspired by bright city lights]

After a massive EP launch self titled "Ghost" from the sweat it out label; Redial, has been under wraps behind the studio creating subliminal beats behind closed doors, and thank Fuckin' god we have the inside scoop with whats new with him.

I caught up with Rob, and he is one busy man; he was happy to fill us with whats new leakin' information on a 2nd EP on the way, which i was absolutely amazed; and the fact that international Labels have been on the pounce on this youngster comes in no surprise, and who else other than boutique french labels.

After a good catch up chat, Rob was kindly enough to give us another Exclusive track titled" Valve" after hearing it repeat after repeat, he gave us the all clear to blog it. And here it is, Enjoy it as much as me.

In the coming weeks I will slowly be unveiling some fantastic new material from GLOVES… the multi-talented DJ/producer/member of the oh-so-loved Damn Arms & total remix master!

Expect some remixes of Van She, Sneaky Sound System & Cut Copy. To launch it all off here is a debut remix of The Death Set. I’ll be honest and say that despite for my appreciation for a wide variety of genres I really dislike the death set. Their tracks are kind of painful to listen to.

Having said that I love this Death Set remix... It’s all simultaneously dark and exquisitely chopped and delightfully glitchy and a million times better than the original which doesn’t sound very dance-floor friendly or easy to remix

Damn Arms have been in hiding for a while but we all knew they would emerge with something beyond wonderful. Their new track “Destination” is the most dreamy, escapist and heart-warming number in the universe and it’s up on their myspace now so you should go stream it incessantly.

I’m also super-excited about the upcoming Destination remixes you will hear by Cut Copy, Ted & Francis, Gloves and the Bang Gang Boys. It’s going to be an explosion of everything that’s incredible in the Australian music scene.

Planisphère

It's been a long wait for Justice to release a new orginal track...

But the wait is finally over!

And not only are they releasing a new track but rather a 4 part epic disco opera. The first three parts was featured first when they djed @ the Dior Homme fashion show. A low quality recording of this show was made available on several blogs and I managed to download the show.

I was impressed by what I heard and knew that the mix I downloaded must have some seriously new and hot Justice tracks. But I felt kinda dismayed because I didn't think I would get to hear those tracks in full 320 K bits/sec glory for a looooong time.

The wait for these tracks to make their way to the net was surprisingly short. I expect a slew of remixes of these tracks by a huge array of producers in the coming weeks and make its way to hypem.

There's one thing about the music of Note Found that really stands out for me, and its the way this artist creates such atmospheric sounds using eerie synths.

There are no bangers. Nor catchy disco tunes. Note Found is like an acid trip. It captures you and takes you to another world. The first song I wanted to blog (really really badly) is Altessa Theme. It is signed to a record label so the only way to check it out is here on myspace (no idea where to buy this record or even if its been released yet).

Another sweet track I am happily sharing with you is the amazing "Error 403". From the second you press play, you descend to a dark world.

I am really looking forward to hearing more releases from Note Found.
