Cut
posted by Mindgutter | Tuesday, December 16, 2008 | 6:06 PM | la_z_guido@hotmail.com After what I would like to describe as a TREMENDOUS weekend... I can safely say I walked away from Social Summer Festival with not only an amazing experience, but also a few cuts, bruises and a few really painful bite marks. All tell-tail signs of a wonderful drunken rampage that lasted the whole weekend. On the topic of cuts, I think it's time for some Cut Copy blog action. These guys are exploding once again. I have some pretty rad remixes of the very catchy track called Far Away that I think you would appreciate. My favourite of the bunch would be the Bag Raiders remix coz it's a little heavier of the lot but I also quite dig the disco version Damn Arms too. Cut Copy - Far Away (Bag Raiders Remix) Cut Copy - Far Away (Damn Arms Remix) Cut Copy - Far Away (The Golden Filter Remix) That's it from me today. I still need to recover I think so I might just have a snooooze. Much Love, Mindgutter P.S. You can catch Mindgutter next @ Kill the Radio supporting Huoratron this Saturday. P.P.S. Send me photo's from Social Summer Festival and I'll post the best ones on the blog this weeeeek. 3 Comments:
Thanks for the bag raiders :)

Love or hate him - Muscles is here to stay.
posted by digs | | 1:05 AM | info@trashbags.net.au [muscles new vid clip] Wow, its been a rollercoaster ride for melbourne boy Muscles, with a shit load of hate mail, blogs , and media press turning on this kid. I have been watching the whole drama unfold, and it has escalated to some drastic measures; Muscles been taken of the Modular, neverever land Festival. Which is quite a shame, as he has been working on his new album, - i am quite a Muscles fan, i have not seen him play live in quite some time, and was quite excited that he was out and doing shows in Sydney again. Although he has been put in the lime light media light, and heavily targeted for some of his comment he has made; put that aside, his music is Fun, and very dance-able, and very well liked, it is a shame that a few of his fans are turning on him, by the pursuasion of the media and over looking his music, fuck!, it does gets you dancing. That is what muscles is, So before becoming another sheep "hating" on what media has created, enjoy his music. see you @ Trashbags 2nd Birthday - doors open at 9pm sharp. Free drinks from 9-11. 1 Comments:This post has been removed by a blog administrator.

Must be the Devil
posted by Mindgutter | Sunday, December 7, 2008 | 9:32 PM | la_z_guido@hotmail.com Alright...I may have been a little slow on the uptake on this little gem. I guess the low quality preview of this tune on beatport whilst I was purchasing Wassup Wassup may have led me to overlook this cool tune. You can always trust Diplo to deliver the coolest sounds and ever since I had a proper listen to this track, I've had the words "Must be the devil between us... hey!" stuck in my on repeat. Diplo - Must be the Devil (YSI) This weekend was pretty rad for me but rather exhausting. My best friend Mel hired Rod Island for her 21st and ended up having the coolest 21st I've ever been to. With a pair of massive JBL Speakers, Pioneer CDJ 1000's and a DJM 800 a combination of Mindgutter, Thirsty Dedds and Gustav pumped out the tunes that could be heard across the water. It was truly glorius. I think it's bed time. So I'm off. Much Love, Mindgutter 3 Comments:Download limit seems to be reached @YSI... :(

Mind Dimension Released!
posted by Mindgutter | Tuesday, December 2, 2008 | 5:41 PM | la_z_guido@hotmail.com Well the time has finally come!Tiga has officially released Mind Dimension 1 and 2 on beatport and is finally ready for you to get your hands on the REAL 320 versions of this song. I'm not going to blog the whole release coz that would be mean to Turbo but I do have a radio rip of Mind Dimension 2 for you to check out if you haven't already done so. I have to admit, blogs have given this track mixed reviews but all the big artists are simply raving about it! I haven't been to a set featuring a big international that hasn't featured this amazing track. Grum, Fake Blood, 2manydjs and Crookers (fuck I hope it was Crookers... I was rather drunk) all dropped this amazing track during their Aussie shows. So... What I have for you now is a pretty cool remix by Mansion and also the original Mind Dimension 1 in all its full 320 glory BUT before you go a judging and a hatin on Mind Dimension 1, I want you to be warned it isn't as cool as Mind Dimension 2. I'm including this to satisfy your insatiable curiosity. If you are looking for the cool Mind Dimension, then head to Beatport and purchase it or check out the radio rip. Tiga - Mind Dimension (Mansion Remix) (YSI) Tiga - Mind Dimension 1 (YSI) Now for something pretty special! BONUS: Nightrider Live @ Darkside Ok...I have an alcohol problem... I go a little hard on Mrs Smirnoff sometimes so my memory of this night is a little shady. But what I do remember is that Distrakt VS Nightrider produced an epic set. I don't have the Distrakt half of the set but I do have the Nightrider part. AND BOY IS IT GREAT! 23 tracks amazing tracks dropped in 40 minutes. This is a very clean recording coz I think it was lifted straight from his laptop rather than the sound system of the club so it's of really good quality. Without further adieu: Nightrider Live @ Dark Side Be sure to visit Nightrider on myspace and show him some love! Trackliiiiiiiiiist! Terminator - Judgement Day (intro) Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You (On Off On Remix) Ladyhawke - Back Of The Van (Van She Tech Turbo Fire Engine Mix) Dragonette – I Get Around (Van She Vocal Mix) Volatile - Faces of War Proxy - Raven (Polymorphic Remix) Late Of The Pier – Focker (Boys Noize Terror Remix) MGMT - Kids (Soulwax Remix) RHYS - Hot Summer (Trumpdisco Remix) Math Head – Get Hype Don Rimini – Hools Danger vs Outrunners - 7h46 On The Run (Nightrider Remix) Van She - Strangers (Yuksek Remix) Daft Punk – Around The World (Kid Dub Remix) Kings Of Leon - Sex On Fire (Jay Robinson Bootleg) Fckn Crew – Carnage (Nightrider’s - Toxic Avenger vs Original mix) Beens - Rebels Beens – Rotor Bob Rifo - Kinky Malinki (The Bloody Beetroots Remix) Goose - Black Gloves (The Bloody Beetroots Remix) Timbaland - Miscommunication (The Bloody Beetroots Remix) Melinda Jackson - Magic (Moustache Remix) Art Whiplash – Party, Sex and Bullshit (Toxic Avenger Remix) That's it from me... Keep it real! Much Love, Mindgutter 5 Comments:
Over the last 2 weekends I've been to 2 festivals in Melbourne, and heard Mind Dimension 1 or 2 a total of 9 times between the two weekends.

posted by Elle. | Monday, December 1, 2008 | 9:51 AM | isamplified@gmail.com I'm happy to say my weekend 'festival' experience was more rewarding than Telly's time at Global Gathering. I’m sure we have all noticed the profane insanity of the whole festival bombardment situation in Australia. Don’t get me wrong, I love outdoor festivals but there’s something about seeing your favourite acts in an intimate setting… something that allows you to connect with the music on a more personal level. Abandoning one sense inevitably intensifies another. Sound becomes a strong physical presence in the dark, invading your body and allowing you to lose your sense of orientation and just merge with the dance music culture. I guess it’s not as important when you want to spend a day in the sun chilling on the grass with some wonderful disco-revival type artists providing you with the perfect soundtrack to suit the scene. However, when you have an excruciatingly attractive lineup consisting of artists like Vitalic, Dj Hell, Crookers and Tommie Sunshine it’s a completely different story. These artists are innovators of dance music. Some have been around for a few decades, reinventing themselves and leaving their mark on the history of music. These artists are all about the physical impact of the volume, the audio assault, the amplification and all the elements you really need to absorb yourself in the sound. This year Сrookers were set to headline with their incontestable current mainstream appeal. I was welcomed into Manning Bar with the chaotic sight of countless police officers, security guards, sniffer dogs and even ambulance crews. The ridiculously tight security was unquestionably pointless and slightly amusing for a club event and the relatively short time frame of the night. Especially when taking into consideration the 3am Manning curfew. At around 12:30 when Vitalic was about to take over for Tommie the crowd unexpectedly began to vanish. Evidently, everyone collectively decided to proceed downstairs to catch Crookers in action. An empty dance floor for Vitalic is definitely something I consider a crime. This guy is incredible. Has anyone heard La Rock 01!? I really felt for Vitalic having to play to such a small audience. It was painful to watch and despite my love for his productions I have to say he is definitely not the best performer. Standing somewhat timidly behind his laptop and polyphonic synthesisers he seemed completely disconnected from the crowd. He was by no account overly disappointing and if there were more people gathered for the set I’m sure it would have matched the mind-blowing spectacle I had envisioned. I headed downstairs midway through his set to check out what all the Crookers commotion was about. I was met with an image of utmost insanity. The entire downstairs level of Manning Bar (including the whole outside area) was a swarm of autonomous bodies drenched in sweat. The energy unleash which the Crookers incited made for a spectacle of animosity. They were firing out their sonically heavy productions with real ferociousness and using every single musical trick in the book. Together with their already heated breakdowns, the crowd was treated to dirty filtering, distortion and overstimulating visual light attacks. My night came to a close with DJ Hell, a secretly anticipated act of mine! His set was undeniably excellent. Technically, he is a great DJ, effortlessly fusing and layering tracks over each other. His set was also stylistically impressive- incorporating some expected industrial elements and underground influences. Stereosonic festival had the most extraordinary lineup this year which inevitably led to some pretty high expectations on my behalf. In no way was I disenchanted by the artists but the night was turned bittersweet with the early venue lockdown and the slightly unappreciative crowd. Here is a song everyone must have. And should keep playing out forever. x Elle Labels: Crookers, Dj Hell, Tommie Sunshine, Vitalic 5 Comments:dave nada = god
