You've probably already heard of Glitch Mob through their track "Drive it Like You Stole it" which has been raping Hypem. The above music video for the track Glitch Mob - Beyond Monday (download) is equally amazing. Their full relase will be out at the end of May. Here's a remix of that hit track with some guy called King Fantastic layin rhymes overtop for some extra flavour. Glitch Mob tracks sound like they were designed for electro hip hop. I'm aware of the irony of my posting a Crystal Castles track below). Though two artists have been making their own considerable waves; LightsoverLA and Fenech Soler. I'd never heard hide or tail of Phoenix duo LightsoverLA until last month, they really just jumped out of no-where hey. Quickly climbing the hypem ladder to hit nothing but ones and twos, they've taken most by surprise. With their crystal-clear dynamic synth's that they can cut, chop, distort or smooth out any which way they please, their fast rise isn't really that surprising after all. Funky synths and catchy baselines, Fenech Soler do electronic pop music and they do it very well. Keep and eye out for their full length album which should be available in the coming months. By Flirtphonic posted by Big Little | | 1:58 AM | bplittle@gmail.com ![]() Quality over quantity is a cliche that easily applies to the 21 year old, newly come producer, from New York who calls himself FLIRTPHONIC. DJ Shadow picked his remix of Organ Donor as an official remix and his remix of NASA's Gifted ruled Hypem for a good while (you judge what that counts for). For whatever reason his 2 original tracks have been given less attention and it's time for this guy to get credit where it's due because these are great tracks. Here are his only 2 original tracks and they're both fantastic. Distorted synths, chaotic strings, horns. Farfletched remix, is powerful in its own way, dropping a big bassline, this sounds very ghetto, with influences from the original, you can hear the running synth which adds the kolt13 touch. DAZE on the other hand adds the Danger touch, this reminds me so much of DAZE upcoming ep 'Awakening', where i hear some of the samples from this track 'awakening'. Absolutely superb, it's mellow, its epic. DAZE sets to release his EP later this year, and word is Tuffem up! own Redial will be remixing one of DAZE track, you will hear an exclusive on TBK. Green VelvetWho can forget the song that was probably one of the most played club anthem songs, also a songs that had been remixed by practically everyone.. LA LA LAND!! So much reference to the nightlife globally, we can see the reason why this took off so big, but other than the cool lyrics, ... the music melody line, is undeniably well structured. Green Velvet is what the TKB call the "hidden undercard" . why i make reference to this, is purely because this artist although globally holds a well deserved reputation, in our shores, Australia, Green Velvet is still considered undiscovered to the mass audience.; Creamfields 2010 as mainstream as it may sound with Headliners The Bloody Beetroots Death crew 77 + MSTRKRFT which will attract the mass audience, the TKB crew will be chillen listening to the beats of Green Velvet and kid sister to a small audience of loyal followers, who really will appreciate their music. This is only the third track that the electro quartet from Brooklyn has released and they've already displayed a good deal of skill talent and variety. They are still virtually unknown outside of New York but I can guarantee that will be changing soon enough. Their first track "Don't Fuck Up" was well received but with only a few complaints that parts of it were too poppy or cheesy. Well let me tell you that there is no pop or fromage of any kind to be found in their newest track. It's an adrenaline packed thrasher that confuses your senses. You won't know whether you want to fight someone or dance but whichever you chose you'll do with a smile on your face. Night Kids - Gurgle 2.0 "fucking Night Kids!" Regaining consciousness in a strange but familiar world, he finds himself in the presence of a shapeless abomination. The man and the demon would come to an agreement, the shell of a body and the naked soul would become one...and return. Ma5k is born and is amongst us. Part Demon, part man, French producer Ma5k is geared to explode onto the scene with the his first EP 'The Other Side' set to be released by the So French Records label. To paraphrase Ma5k's sound, one word comes to mind; massive. I was literally blown off my chair and onto my ass by his work. It possesses the qualities that always go hand in hand with high caliber French electro. His track Perdide II has given my stereo's repeat button a serious flogging. If you had to compare his sound, you might say his bass lines have a touch of the infamous Kavinsky flair. His synths...hard to say, some stages you may get a Danger vibe, other times a sense of Justice. But really Ma5k has carved a glorious clean cut sound to call his own.On the 12th of April his EP is set to be released, with remixes from names such as Bestrack, STellaR and We are Upset. Very nice ! DEFEAT is on the move.. KOLT13 Remix posted by MANAGEMENT | | 3:59 PM | info@trashbags.net.au // DEFEAT is shown in many forms. The Long awaited EP of Kolt13 is still under complete wraps, with not so much being available other than "Love at the speed of Light" which features WEB's vocals, on a cool kolt13 structured song. . . there really isn't much more on this Hidden EP project by Kolt13 & tuffem up! records.. Working closely under TUFFEM UP! main crew's HQ they were kind enough to release, a remix that there very own bred DEFEAT has created, and what a hell of a remix it is. I would put this remix as a more epic slower type. Danger cross Justice cross Kavinsky, which exactly is what DEFEAT is. This wonder kid did an amazing job with the structure of this remix, he did use parts of the vocals of kolt13's love at the speed of light, but only sampled it, which i felt was right, the music production of the entire remix sings a song itself, i am glad this remix came the way it did, as the music is not lost throughout the vocals, ..
