Since Kavinsky released the stems for Nightcall for anyone to remix we've been assaulted by a barrage of Nightcall remixes of different shapes and sizes. I didn't think I'd let myself get caught up in it, but 2 producers who at the top of their respective games just released their remixes and I couldn't not post them. They've both been featured on trashbagskids.com before and this won't be the last time. Here's two very different but equaly amazing remixes from French electro funksters Bestrack and the heavy hitting F.O.O.L! MMMatthias who grew to fame due to his amazing chopped up and reworked remixes of such big names as Bloc Party, Justice, Yeasayer, Boys Noize and pretty much any other big name you can think of, has fully embraced the new challenge of making original productions. And he's killin it. His last EP, James, was a huge success and I feel that his newest one will be the same. It's called The Question and Answer EP and provides two original MMM tracks (ya you guessed it, they're called Question and Answer) along with some remixes. MMMatthias - The Q&A EP by nathantayloronline I always feel it's quite the testatement to a producer when his original tracks are better than the remixes, and I feel that's been the case with pretty much all of MMMatthias' original works, not to take anything away from the remixes. MMMatthias original version of The Answer is a bonafide cockrocker. The huge bass line will have your innards shaking and probably give you some internal damage. It's HUGE! Streetlife DJ's remix of The Answer makes a case for itself though, with its 8-bit influenced sounds bouncing around MMMatthias' original thumping bass line. Check it out. I know their's quite a few out there but this is really enjoyable with its driving bassline and distorted vocals and beats. Chanel -moscow range.. But our recent discovery has been, the amount of Overwhelming producers and bands.. The Proxy, Tesla Boy, DJ ANTENTION... and now.. my most impressive find is ' New wave perfectionist' UPSTATION. Incredible, Superb, absolutely perfect in so many ways.. first i start with the production of the music, if any band has found a perfect ear sounding melody line, hats off to UPSTATION . I like comparing bands with different bands, .. but only if they exceed the band being compared to, which in this case.. Russian neighbours Tesla boy; they are great, but coming into a new release of their album "Modern thrills" lacked . . . and by a considerable amount, you really want to hear the power of the lead singer in their songs, but he doesn't quite get there.... I felt that the music was great, but with only limited vocals, it surely did not meet expectation... well for me. UPSTATION trio band, with just an EP release, these guys are unique, for this decade, when i mean unique, this has something that has been missing, A powerful dominating singer.. Gosh the guy sounds David bowie - See video below Remarkable resemblance, who can deny this? . . . as soon as i hit play to UPSTATION song titled, 'No more promises' - i thought to myself, 'wow,..this sounds remarkably like David bowie' Clearly a new band in the making, and it comes to no surprise its from the mighty country of Russia. Enjoy this post, send them some love, before they explode in the mainstream market.. By Spaceship - Toxic Avenger Remix plus Refused posted by Big Little | | 7:52 AM | bplittle@gmail.com  So Benny Benassi released his single "Spaceship" today on Beatport, which frankly I had very little interest in. It's Benny Benassi featuring Kelis and one of the guys from the Black Eyed Peas. Not really my deal. But my ears did perk up a bit when I heard the roster set to remix the track, highlighted by remixes from The Toxic Avenger and Pance Party. The original track has a sort of cheesy mainstream poppy electro sound that you'd expect from Benny Benassi and Kelis, but if anyone could dirty up a track like that it would be The Toxic Avenger. Once you get past Kelis' overproduced vocals The Toxic Avenger manages to transform Spaceship into a quite listenable, dare I say damn enjoyable track that any TbKid could appreciate. Here it is for your listening pleasure. Refused used to regularly rock my eardrums about ten years ago. These Swedish aural warriors revolutionized punk and post-punk or whatever the fuck name you chose to give the genre. Anyways they're loud, agressive, and it's about time someone decided to give them a gnarly rework. Fitting that it's the Bloody Beetroots.
